Juice cleansing floods your body with nutrients in their natural state creating a lasting, clean energy; not the ups and downs and crashes we can get from coffee and sugar. With cold pressed juice, the enzymes and nutrients are liberated from fiber allowing them to be quickly assimilated into your body.
Doing a cleanse is not about losing immediate weight, it is to get ready to crush your diet because you now know a juice cleanse is a super effective way to prep your body. In fact, after your 3 day juice detox, you'll very likely have lost some weight. Some have lost up to 8 pounds, while some shed just a couple pounds. Remember that you are not doing a cleanse to lose immediate weight but to reset your body to change your nutrition habits and to lose weight.
The answer varies depending on your goals. One or two days can help you get back on track if you had an overindulgent weekend or after holidays. Three to five days is great for someone wanting to start a healthy lifestyle.
After your juice cleanse, stick to whole foods like produce, nuts, beans, and other foods without added sugar or preservatives. Incorporate lots of fruits and veggies. Try to work 2 servings of fruit and 3 to 5 servings of vegetables into your meals each day.
You are still giving your body a break from the big offenders: processed foods, sugar, refined carbohydrates, dairy and hopefully less stress and anxiety as you focus on self care while on a juice cleanse. Having a little black coffee (plain) in the morning is not going to de-rail any of that.
Your juice cleanse will come with 6 juices per day and ideally you should drink one every 2½ hours. But listen to your body and drink when you feel hungry. Let your body tell you when to eat. If you don't finish all 6 within the day, don't worry.
When you're participating in a detox, it's common to experience headaches. Detox headaches are often caused by your body's reaction to missing an item, such as sugar or caffeine, which was habitually present. This may result in: a reduction in circulating hormones.
Cleansers usually report feeling weightless, energized, and full of life. Your digestive system is fully rested and you will no longer experience intense hunger pangs or negative symptoms you may have battled with in the previous days.
Same with juicing. When you begin, you are feeding your body a vast amount of nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables. Your body (liver and kidney especially) will kick into overdrive to remove toxins, and also start to build newer, healthier tissues. You may experience low energy levels, headaches, and even joint pain.
